Hey there!
So, I read this super interesting book back in the 90s in the good old United States. Picture this:
There’s this girl chilling in the forest all by herself. She’s got mad survival skills but not much else going on, you know? She finds a massive pearl one day and treasures it like nobody’s business. Then she stumbles upon a skeleton and starts creating this whole story about who it belonged to. She even kinda falls in love with the imaginary person in her head. Time flies, and the girl becomes a young woman.
Then, out of the blue, a guy shows up. He’s a nature photographer and totally falls for her forest-dwelling charm. They hit it off, have a little river fun, and things get serious. But when she introduces him to the skeleton, he freaks out and calls her crazy. He bails, leaving her with a heavy heart. Turns out, she’s pregnant with his baby and decides to raise her kid just like she was raised.
I’ve been thinking about this book for ages and feeling kinda curious about giving it another read. Kid me was all about that relationship, but I wonder if there were some red flags I missed as an adult. Oh, and no clue who the target audience was for this book. I just grabbed it from the library, the one that didn’t care about age restrictions.
Can anyone out there help me figure out the title of this book? I’d appreciate it big time!
Thanks a bunch,
